Workers at garment and footwear factories are expecting minimum monthly wage of US$200 next calendar year, 2018 � according to local media report.
The report tested the mood with a number of workers who shared their optimism as internal discussion on minimum wage was scheduled to happen next month.
The Royal Government of Cambodia through the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training has prioritised the issue and been working hard on it; and minimum wage discussion has become a regular agenda item for workers, employers and government's technical team.
As of 2017, minimum wage for garment and footwear factory workers is US$153, let alone other benefits.
