Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MOEYS) and the French Embassy in Cambodia reached here last Friday an agreement on the strengthening of French studies and teaching in the Kingdom.
H.E. Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of MoEYS, and H.E. Jean-Claude Poimboeuf, French Ambassador to Cambodia, were the signatories.
Under the agreement, the studies and teaching of the French language in Cambodia will be reinforced and five scholarships will be given to Cambodian students and professors to pursue their doctoral studies in France in the fields of Science, Mathematics, and Engineering, to respond to Cambodia Industrial Development Policy.
The Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports will be responsible for 50 percent of the five scholarships' funding while the French government will be in charge of the rest.
