French President to Attend ASEM13

H.E. Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, will attend the 13th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Summit to be hosted by Cambodia on Nov. 25-26.
The information was shared by H.E. Jacques Pellet, newly appointed Ambassador of France to Cambodia, while paying a courtesy visit to Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen at the Peace Palace here this morning, according to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian Premier.
The cooperation between Cambodia and France and between ASEAN and Europe will be further strengthened when Cambodia holds the ASEAN chairmanship and France takes over the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union next year, H.E. Jacques Pellet underlined.
Besides, the new French diplomat spoke highly of Cambodia’s development and its success in the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, stressing that some 400 French companies in Cambodia welcomed the successful vaccination campaign leading to the country’s reopening, especially the resumption of flights, and economic and trade activities.
In reply, Samdech Techo Hun Sen welcomed H.E. Macron’s participation in the ASEM13 tomorrow, and agreed with H.E. Jacques Pellet that ASEAN and EU should boost their cooperation in various sectors in an inclusive and stable manner.
The Prime Minister also shared the same idea with the French ambassador over the cooperation between both nations in the bilateral and multilateral frameworks.
