Four Countries Committed to Promoting Investment in Cambodia

Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland are committed to attracting more investors from the countries to Cambodia.

The commitment was highlighted in a meeting between H.E. Dr. Ith Samheng, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training and the Ambassadors of Nordic countries to Cambodia including Sweden H.E. Jon Astrom Grondahl, Norway H.E. Mrs. Astrid Emilie Helle, Denmark H.E. Jon Thorgaard, and Finland H.E. Jyri Jarviaho here in Phnom Penh on Feb. 16.

H.E. Dr. Ith Samheng informed the ambassadors that Cambodia is promoting its human capital development and amending the law on labour to ensure better job condition and harmony in professional relations.

The ministry is supporting unions to promote the rights and freedoms of professional organisations considering them as effective dialogue partners.

He spoke highly of the good cooperation with the Nordic countries, especially Sweden in projects capacity building, job creation, and better working environment.

The four ambassadors appreciated Cambodia's mushrooming development in all sectors, and the government's effective response and containment of COVID-19 pandemic.

They applauded H.E. Dr. Ith Samheng for his effort in enhancing Cambodia's labour sector.

They pledged to continue their collaboration in all domains, particularly in human resources development, labour, and human trafficking intervention with Cambodia.
