Floating Bridge in front of Angkor Wat Temple is scheduled to be put into use on May 25, said a news release of the Authority for the Protection and Management of Angkor and the Region of Siem Reap (APSARA).
H.E. Ms. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts and Chairwoman of the APSARA Authority, will preside over the inauguration ceremony, it pointed out.
According to the same source, the construction of the bridge started on Nov. 28 last year. It has 10 meter wide and 220 meter long. The bridge was built with airbags imported from Canada with five-year quality and safety warranty.
The Floating Bridge is in replacement of the West Hal Bridge in front of Angkor Wat Temple which will be fully closed during the renovation process conducted by Sophia University of Japan, in cooperation with the APSARA Authority, said the news release.
