Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations will help Cambodia in examination and prevention of the epidemic of African swine fever.
The commitment was made by Dr. Alexandre Huynh, Representative of FAO to Cambodia in a meeting with Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries H.E. Veng Sakhon here in Phnom Penh yesterday.
The meeting intends to discuss the follow up, examination, protection and prevention of potential outbreak of the disease in Cambodia.
Dr. Alexandre Huynh underlined that happening visit of FAO's expert led by Dr. Fillip Claes to Cambodia from May 27 to 31 provides the update of latest situation of the African swine fever epidemic, including prevention recommendations of the disease.
From his end, H.E. Veng Sakhon spoke highly of FAO's cooperation and the missions of the organisation's expert in Cambodia to support the Kingdom in preventing the disease, and shared with his guests the government's effort in the area.
