The Office of the Council of Ministers of Cambodia has recently released a summary report on the achievements of the Royal Government of Cambodia in the fifth mandate, from 2013 to 2017.
According to the report, the total population of Cambodia is approximately 15.85 million, of them those aged between 0-14 accounts for 28.67 percent, between 15-64 for 66.48 percent, and over 65 for 4.85 percent.
There are in total more than 3.44 million households (4.6 people per family on average), it pointed out, adding that the population growth is 1.54 percent per year.
With a total land area of 181,035 square kilometres, Cambodia is composed of a capital city, Phnom Penh, and 24 provinces, 159 districts, 12 Khan, 26 cities, 1,409 communes, 237 Sangkat, and 14,364 villages.
