Expectation for solutions to ASEAN and Global Issues Pinned in 55th AMM and Related Meetings

The 55th ASEAN Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings are expected to find proper solutions to facing problems in the region and the world.

Top agenda – security, economic recovery, climate change among other issues are set to place on the table in 55th ASEAN Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings, hosted by Cambodia.

Issues would be raised up against each other, but the common ground would be the same to find solutions to challenging issues the region and the globe are facing, said H.E. Kung Phoak, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, at a daily press conference this evening.

“I hope that all countries attending the 55th ASEAN Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings will take this opportunity and use it to discuss for solutions to issues in ASEAN and the globe,” H.E. Kung Phoak, also official spokesperson for the meetings, said.

Cambodia has been hosting the 55th ASEAN Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings from July 29 to Aug. 5 with the participation of 39 countries, including the host.

The delegations that have arrived and are scheduled to arrive in Phnom Penh include Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Other countries are Timor-Leste, South Korea, India, the United States, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, the European Union, Qatar, Türkiye, Denmark, China, Canada, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Russia, Japan, Australia, Pakistan, Mongolia, Bangladesh, North Korea, Azerbaijan, Morocco, Greece, Norway, Sri Lanka, the Netherlands, Oman, and Papua New Guinea.
