The first ever Siem Reap Tax Forum was organised yesterday by European Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (EuroCham) with an aim to share professional insights and practical guidance about Cambodian tax landscape with the view of fostering greater and easier compliance.
H.E. Kong Vibol, Director General of Taxation, Ministry of Economy and Finance and Mr. Arnaud Darc, Chairman of EuroCham presided over the one-day forum.
The event provided a platform for the General Department of Taxation and the private sector, in particular small and medium taxpayers in tourism industry as well as non-profit organisations to share up-to-date information and insights about recent tax developments and tax regulations in place that impact both local and foreign-owned businesses in Cambodia.
The participants discussed different topics on recent tax developments, simplified accounting for small tax payers, issues for small tax payers, tourism and hospitality industry tax regimes, and tax for non-profits.
H.E. Kong Vibol began the day with first-hand insight into the Royal Government's tax policy, followed by presentations and panel discussions from GDT officials and some of the private sector's leading tax professionals.
