Cambodian Minister of Environment H.E. Say Samal met here last Friday with the World Bank (WB) Group Mission Delegation, led by Mr. Christopher Crepin, Director of Environmental Programmes and Natural Resources, to discuss the WB action plans for Cambodia.
For the next four years, the WB will give its priorities to sustainable natural resource management, solid waste management, and the green development with support to the reform programmes of the Royal Government of Cambodia, said Mr. Christopher Crepin.
For his part, H.E. Say Samal welcomed the WB to setting the cooperation framework for Cambodia with the inclusion of the environmental and natural resource management.
H.E. Minister also encouraged the WB to widen the extent of the working plans by supporting other prioritised areas that help increase the incomes of the people and reduce the pressures on the natural resources, i.e. natural tourism, services, processing industry, human resource building, and so forth.
Additionally, H.E. Say Samal urged the WB to think through and back the environmental protection, especially the liquid and solid waste management for safeguarding the environmental sustainability and the improvement of tourism as well.
