Royal Government of Cambodia will finish the draft of Intermodal Transport Master Plan for 2021-2030 by the midst of 2020, having worked on it since 2018.
The update was shared in a recent discussion meeting on the draft chaired by H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance here in Phnom Penh.
Senior Minister and Minister of Public Work and Transports H.E. Sun Chanthol, Minister of Environment H.E. Say Samal, Minister Attached to Prime Minister and Secretary General of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea, as well as senior officials from concerned institutions also participated in the discussion.
Funded by China International Engineering Consulting Cooperation (CIECC), the draft on Intermodal Transport Master Plan for 2021-2030 intends to boost Cambodia's connections, reduce fee of transportation and logistics, integrate Cambodia into the region and the world.
It will also increase challenges and economic diversification in order to ensure the country's sustainable economic growth.
In the draft, there are key master plans including logistic and intermodal transport systems, and land, maritime, air and railway transports.
Once completed, the draft will contribute significantly not only to developing all transportation infrastructure of Cambodia, but also to increasing efficiency of public investments.
