Supreme National Economic Council has formed a working group to draft digital economy policy for Cambodia.
The working group chaired by H.E. Vongsey Vissoth, Secretary of State at Ministry of Economy and Finance has 31 members from relevant ministries and institutions.
They have been tasked to follow up the latest update on digital economy trend in the globe, and evaluate strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of digital economy in Cambodia.
Human resource capacity building is also among their roles.
The endeavour followed the commitment dated Jan. 9 of the Royal Government of Cambodia to make the country a digital economy.
In a recent media interview, H.E. Vongsey Visoth said that the working group needs at least two years to work on the assigned tasks.
It is positive that being a digital economy, Cambodia will be able to fasten its economic performance amidst competitive regional and global context.
