CRC Donates US$100,000 to Earthquake-hit Türkiye

The Cambodian Red Cross has donated US$100,000 to support the humanitarian operation of the Türkiye Red Crescent Society through the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye to the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The donation was handed over here this afternoon to H.E. Mrs. Ülkü Kocaefe, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Cambodia by H.E. Ms. Pum Chantinie, CRC Secretary General, while leading a CRC delegation to pay tribute to the victims of the recent earthquake in Türkiye.

In her condolence letter, CRC President Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen expressed her deep shock and sadness by the enormous tragedy loss of lives and tremendous destruction caused by the severe earthquake of 7.8 magnitude struck in the Southern of Türkiye and Syria on Feb. 6, 2023.

“In the name of the Cambodian Red Cross and in my personal name, I would like to convey through you, Excellency Ambassador, my deepest condolence and heartfelt sympathy towards those who lost their beloved ones and the victim families who are now screaming for help and support, spiritually and technically, in such very difficult and hardship circumstances,” she said.

“May I join you in appealing for more assistances and praying for the speedy recovery and restoration of the devastated areas, as well as for the wellbeing of the Türkiye people,” the CRC president added.
