Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here this morning at the Peace Palace a delegation of China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) led by Mr. Weng Gang, Vice President of China Communications Construction Company Ltd. (CCCC).
The meeting touched upon China-funded physical infrastructure construction projects in Cambodia, including the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway whose groundbreaking ceremony will take place tomorrow under the presidency of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, according to the Premier's Assistant H.E. Eang Sophalleth.
This US$2-billion-worth Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway is a biggest project among the over 155 projects invested by the company overseas, Mr. Weng Gang underlined.
He thanked Samdech Techo Hun Sen for his support which has provided an opportunity for CRBC to contribute to building roads and bridges as well as other physical infrastructure in Cambodia. The company has constructed a total of 1,000-kilometre-long road in Cambodia, he added.
Cambodia's high economic growth along with political stability and good relations between the two countries are the main factors for the increase in big investment projects in Cambodia.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen spoke highly of the investment projects of CRBC in Cambodia, saying that those projects could not be successful without the support from Chinese President H.E. Xi Jinping and Chinese Premier H.E. Li Keqiang.
The Cambodian Prime Minister recalled the strong friendship and cooperation between both countries as well as their comprehensive strategic partnership, and thanked the Chinese government and people for their contribution to the development of Cambodia.
