The ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP) has been elected as Chairman of Cultural Council of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) while representatives from China, Russia and Nepal as Deputy Chairmen.
This information was made known by CPP in a statement released after the 28th Standing Committee Meeting of ICAPP held in Seoul, the Republic of Korea late last week.
Moreover, H.E. Hor Namhong, Deputy Prime Minister and Member of the CPP Standing Committee, was elected Vice President of ICAPP Standing Committee and Co-Chair of the Asia-Europe Political Forum (AEPF), while Mr. Huy Vannak, President of Union of Journalist Federations of Cambodia (UJFC), was chosen as Deputy Chairman of ICAPP Media Forum's Bureau, it added.
These are another value and justice given by the Asian and European political parties to CPP in the cause of rescuing the nation from the genocidal regime and leading the country in a democratic way as well as defending peace and sustainable development, underlined the statement dated July 10.
ICAPP is a forum of political parties of Asia-Oceania countries which was officially launched in Manila, the Philippines in 2000, with an aim to promote the exchanges and cooperation between political parties from different countries in the Asian region. ICAPP consists now of more than 350 members from 52 countries in Asia, including Cambodia.
