COVID-19: Only 2 New Infections, but 23 New Recoveries and Zero New Death

Cambodia recorded only two new cases of COVID-19, the lowest number ever since the large community outbreak in February last year.

The figure was shared by the Ministry of Health in a press release issued this morning, adding that the new cases are all locally transmitted Omicron variant.

The Kingdom’s COVID-19 tally now rose to 136,230, including 15,777 Omicron cases (14,427 Omicron community cases).

At the same time, 23 more patients have successfully been cured, while zero new death was announced; the total recovered cases and death toll stood at 132,968 and 3,056, respectively.

The first COVID-19 case was detected in Cambodia in late January 2020 in Preah Sihanouk province.
