A total of 512 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cambodia, all of Omicron variant, said the Ministry of Health in a press release this morning.

Of the new infections, 496 were locally transmitted and 16 were imported, the same source pointed out, adding that the country’s COVID-19 tally thus hit 123,955, including 3,502 Omicron cases (2,876 Omicron community cases).

Meanwhile, the ministry announced 156 new recoveries, while zero new death was registered for 41 days in a row; therefore the total cured and death cases stood at 118,960 and 3,015, respectively.

The first COVID-19 case was detected in Cambodia in late January 2020 in Preah Sihanouk province.
