Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction said the country's construction sector saw an increase by 27.44 percent during the first six months of this year.
In the January-June period, a total of 1,523 projects on 7,284,675 square metres of land worth over US$4,943 million have been approved by the ministry, while at the same period of the previous year, there were only 1,183 projects of 10,512,261 square metres worth US$3,879 million, it pointed out.
For the first semester of 2017, it added, the ministry has granted construction permits to 14 Borey and 43 buildings of up from five floors.
According to the same source, from 2000 to June 2017, there were in total 309 projects of 13,462,063 square metres worth US$4,686 million invested by foreign investors from 18 countries.
Cambodia has 1,006 registered architecture and construction companies, of them 408 are foreign companies.
