Construction of Siem Reap Provincial Hospital under JICA’s Grant Aid Kicks Off

The construction of Siem Reap Provincial Hospital under the JICA Grant Aid Project of US$18.95 million in Siem Reap provincial city kicked off on Tuesday.

The ground breaking ceremony was held under the presidency of Dr. Kros Sarath, Director of Siem Reap Provincial Health Department, and Ms. Kamei Haruko, Chief Representative of JICA Cambodia Office.

JICA said in a press release that the project is aimed to improve health care services at the Siam Reap Provincial Hospital and four district hospitals by constructing facilities as well as providing medical equipment, thereby contributing to expansion of health coverage in the province.

This project is to construct a new building (approximately 7,260 square metres) at the Siem Reap Provincial Hospital equipped with 212 beds in the outpatient department, emergency, surgical and other departments, pointed the same source, adding that likewise, the project will also provide medical equipment such as radiography equipment, ultrasound equipment, and instruments for operating theatres for the provincial hospital and four district hospitals.
