Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has appealed to all relevant parties to prepare for the forthcoming national election so that it is conducted in a free, fair and transparent atmosphere.
Addressing to the groundbreaking ceremony for the improvement of National Road No. 3 Phnom Penh-Bek Kus-Kampot held here this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen ordered the competent authorities at all levels to help facilitate all political parties that are applying to join the 6th general elections on July 29, 2018.
More than 10 political parties would compete in the upcoming national election, said the Premier, reiterating that a dead political party cannot affect the whole election.
A political party died, but the democracy and multi-party system in Cambodia didn’t die, he underlined.
At the same time, Samdech Techo Hun Sen welcomed the declaration of Grassroots Democratic Party confirming its participation in the July election.
According to the National Election Committee, three political parties the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), Cambodian Youth Party (CYP), and Cambodian Nationality Party (CNP) have already registered at NEC during the first three days of the two-week-long registration period, while 17 others received registration application forms.
