To increase teachers capacity, to improve students' literacy and numeracy, to promote positive learning and personal behaviour as well as to encourage communications and social interaction are the objectives of the Study Buddy Programme. The Whole Systems Improvement (WSI) plan is organised by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with Jerudong International School, JIS and International Schools Brunei, ISB. The certificate presentation ceremony was held yesterday at ISB Theatre Hall.
Among the certificate recipients was His Majesty's granddaughter, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Hariisah Widadul Bolqiah binti Pengiran Maharaja Setia Laila Diraja Sahibul Irshad Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Rahim. The certificates were presented by Dayang Hajah Noridah binti Abdullah, Acting Senior Special Duties Officer who is also the Head of Private Education Section, Ministry of Education.
The Study Buddy Programme gives the Year 10 to Year 12 ISB students the opportunity to collaborate with 6 government schools namely Sungai Siamas Primary School; Mabohai Primary School; Mabohai Primary School; Pusar Ulak Primary School; Delima Satu Primary School; Lambak Kanan Primary School and Anggerek Desa Primary School. The programme held every Saturday and during semester break is part of the students' community service, where they volunteer as private tutors in aspects of learning in maths and literacy.
