CDC Approves another Coal-fired Power Plant Project in Preah Sihanouk Province

AKP Phnom Penh, The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has recently approved a 700-megawatt coal-fired power plant project at Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone in Stung Hav district, Preah Sihanouk province.

Invested by Huadian Sihanoukville Power Generation Co., Ltd, with an investment capital of US$1,283 million, the project is expected to generate some 520 jobs for the locals, pointed out the CDC in its press release issued yesterday.

Such investment amid the COVID-19 outbreak demonstrates confidence of investors in Cambodia’s macroeconomic, political and social stability though threatened by the pandemic.
