Cambodia’s Rubber Production Increases 39 Percent Last Year

The total rubber production in Cambodia rose by 33 percent to 193,286 tons in 2017, compared to a year before, according to the official figures released by the General Directorate of Rubber at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries.

About 170,230 of the total 436,339 hectares of rubber cultivation land nationwide have been being harvested.

From January to December 2107, Cambodia exported 188,832 tons of rubber latex to international markets, up 30 percent compared to 2016.

Average price of rubber latex during the period was US$1,586 per ton, a year-on-year increase by 24 percent.
