Cambodian PM’s Upcoming Visit to France to Deepen Bilateral Collaboration

The visit of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to France next week will further strengthen the relations and cooperation between the two countries, according to his letter dated Jan. 8 to H.E. Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic.

‘I send you my most respectful greetings and express my gratitude for the invitation to make an official visit to France on Jan. 18 and 19. It is with great honour and deep commitment that I accept this opportunity to engage in dialogue and strengthen our bilateral relations,’ he wrote.

The recent visit of His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia to Paris marked a significant step towards a strengthened partnership between our nations, added Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, stressing that in the continuity of this momentum, his visit aims to deepen Cambodia-France collaboration in essential areas, while placing particular emphasis on current environmental challenges, notably the energy transition and climate change, a
s well as on the promotion of global peace.

On the other hand, the strengthening of economic ties, the sharing of sustainable development strategies, defence cooperation, the celebration of cultural heritage and the promotion of the Francophonie constitute the pillars of the bilateral relationship between the two countries, he continued.

‘I am convinced that our discussions will contribute to deeper mutual understanding and beneficial joint initiatives. Cambodia is committed to engaging in these efforts, recognising the importance of our partnership for our people and for the international community,’ underlined Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet.
