Cambodian PM to Send Written Remarks for Global COVID-19 Summit

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will send his written address to the virtual Global COVID-19 Summit under the theme “Ending the Pandemic and Building Back Better”, to be hosted by H.E. Joe Biden, President of the United States of America, on Sept. 22.

The Summit will focus on vaccinating the world, saving lives, building back better health security, and acting for progress, and agreement on the targets, pointed out the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in a press release issued last night.

According to the source, Samdech Techo Prime Minister Hun Sen’s remarks will underscore the urgent need to jointly stop COVID-19 pandemic with sincere humanitarian spirit and without any hidden political agenda, in order to enable safe resumption of socio-economic activities. He will also stress the importance of including all vaccines recognised by WHO as key global strategic good without discrimination.

Taking this opportunity, it added, Samdech Techo Prime Minister will apprise the Summit on Cambodia’s effective measures and comprehensive strategy to fight against COVID-19 and to enhance resilience and sustainable development in the post COVID-19 crisis.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister’s address at the Summit reflects Cambodia’s strong solidarity with and commitment to international effort to fight against COVID-19 in the spirit of “no one is safe until everyone is safe”, it underlined.
