Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will lead a high-level delegation to attend the 12th Asia-Europe Meeting Summit (12th ASEM Summit) in Brussels, Belgium on Oct. 18-19, at the invitation of President of the European Council H.E. Donald Tusk and President of the European Commission H.E. Jean-Claude Juncker.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation AKP received this morning, the 12th ASEM Summit, which will be held under the key theme Europe and Asia: Global Partners for Global Challenges, aims to strengthen dialogue and cooperation between Asia and Europe as the two regions strive to build synergy to tackle a wide range of areas from boosting trade and investment, to connectivity, to sustainable development and climate change.
Addressing the Plenary Session under the sub-theme Reinforcing the multilateral system: advancing the ASEM partnership on global issues, the Cambodian Premier will deliver his key remarks on 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, inclusive & Sustainable Economic Growth.
During his stay in Belgium, Samdech Techo Prime Minister will hold separate bilateral meetings with his counterparts from the Russian Federation, H.E. Dmitry Medvedev; the Republic of Hungary, H.E. Viktor Orban; Norway, H.E. Mrs. Erna Solberg; the Czech Republic, H.E. Andrej Babis, as well as other heads of delegation.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen will also meet with members of the Cambodian community and students living and studying in Belgium.
The Cambodian high-level delegation will include H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister, Minister of Public Works and Transport; senior government officials and business leaders from Cambodia Chamber of Commerce.
