- Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will leave tomorrow for Kumamoto city, Japan to attend the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit, at the invitation of H.E. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, and the Joint Executive Committee of the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit

The 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit will be held on April 23-24 under the theme “Water for Sustainable Development – Best Practices and the Next Generation”.

According to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued this evening, on April 23, in the presence of numerous Heads of State/Government, political dignitaries and national and international organisation representatives, Samdech Techo Prime Minister Hun Sen will deliver a keynote address at the Summit, emphasising the importance of water and its related issues as well as the crucial need to work together to manage this vital resource sustainably.

Besides, Samdech Techo Prime Minister and H.E. Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio will hold a bilateral meeting to further strengthen and enhance the relations and cooperation between the two countries. The two Prime Ministers will also preside over a signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology of Cambodia and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister is also expected to hold a bilateral meeting with H.E. Phankham Viphavanh, Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and receive courtesy calls by Japanese political and business figures on the sidelines of the Water Summit.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister will be accompanied by H.E. Lim Kean Hor, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology, and other senior government officials.
