Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here this morning a visiting U.S. business delegation led by Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director for the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council Mr. Michael W. Michalak.
According to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to Samdech Techo Hun Sen, in the courtesy meeting, Mr. Michael W. Michalak briefed the Premier on his visit to Cambodia, the purpose of which is to explore ways to promote long-term economic relations with Cambodia.
U.S.-ASEAN Business Council's main focusing areas are economy, energy, infrastructure, human resource development, agriculture, and culture, he said, adding that for the agriculture sector, some 6 to 10 American companies are coming to the Kingdom to discuss and seek cooperation and investment opportunities.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed warm welcome to the U.S. business delegation and laid stress on the importance of agriculture as well as the impacts of climate change on this domain. He also asked American investors to bring new agricultural technologies to Cambodia and to the region.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen requested the American companies to consider investing in processing Cambodian agricultural products and hoped that the American side will contribute to dealing with climate change issue as well as investment issues.
