Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here yesterday afternoon at the Peace Palace a visiting delegation of SOS Kinderdorf International (SOS-KDI) led by its President Mr. Siddhartha Kaul.
H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian premier, told reporters after the meeting that Mr. Siddhartha Kaul briefed Samdech Techo Hun Sen on achievements of his organisation in Cambodia in the past 15 years, stressing that many Cambodian orphans have been in school and pursued their studies at university.
The SOS-KDI president took the opportunity to thank the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) for its support to his organisation.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his gratitude to SOS-KDI for its assistance to Cambodian orphans, and underlined the RGC's special attention and support to the orphans.
SOS-KDI is a non-profit organisation established in 1949. It has been operating in 133 countries around the world and assisting some 2.3 million children. It has opened six centers in Cambodia such as in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Battambang, Kratie, Rattanakiri, and Kampot. The SOS Children's Village in Kampot is going to be inaugurated under the presidency of Samdech Techo Hun Sen on Mar. 5.
