AKP Phnom Penh, November 10, 2022 — Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen held here this evening separate talks with H.E. Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr, President of the Republic of the Philippines and H.E. Phankham Viphavanh, Prime Minister of Loa PDR.
According to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Personal Assistant to the Cambodian Premier, in the meeting with H.E. Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr, both leaders exchanged views on ASEAN affairs, especially on the bloc’s unity, solidarity and centrality, and the bilateral cooperation in terms of trade, investment, tourism, agriculture, IT, and defence.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen encouraged Philippine companies to invest in rice cultivation, milling and storage in Cambodia for export to the Philippines.
For the bilateral meeting with his Lao counterpart H.E. Phankham Viphavanh, both leaders also discussed ASEAN Affairs and the current cooperation.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen and H.E. Phankham Viphavanh agreed to push for a deeper cooperation on trade, tourism, energy and connectivity, the key factors to boost bilateral trade.
Both Premiers also agreed to continue their cooperation to maintain ASEAN’s solidarity and centrality.
Philippine President H.E. Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr, and Lao Prime Minister H.E. Phankham Viphavanh, are in Cambodia to attend the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and Related Summits in Phnom Penh this week.
