Cambodian PM Highlights the Significance of Racial and Religious Harmonisation

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has emphasised the importance of racial and religious harmonisation in peacebuilding.

While receiving a courtesy visit from H.E. Dr. Mohammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, Secretary General of the Muslim World League (RABITA), at the Peace Palace here this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said racial and religious harmony is very significant because for a country to achieve peace, stability and development, there must be racial and religious tolerance and harmonisation.

Therefore, he underlined, efforts must be made not to be biased while laws and administrative rules cannot be used to govern the people's beliefs, but policies and complementary methods.

For his part, H.E. Dr. Mohammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa expressed his pleasure to visit Cambodia, a country without racial and religious discrimination, which is the true value of Cambodia and an example to the world.

H.E. Dr. Mohammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa also spoke highly of Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s leadership, adding that Saudi Arabia will bring Cambodia’s experience about racial and religious harmony to various forums.
