Cambodian PM Congratulates the Launch of Taxi Boat Service

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has congratulated the launch of temporary taxi boat service from Prek Phnov-Phnom Penh-Takhmao.

You can now travel by waterway to reduce the road traffic congestion, the premier said on his Facebook page this afternoon.

The new transportation service began this morning under the presidency of H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister, Minister of Public Works and Transport.

This boat-based service linking Prek Phnov in the northern part of Phnom Penh to Takhmao town of Kandal province has been created to provide more convenience for our citizens and it will reduce traffic congestion on bridges and roads.

During this trial period, passengers will have free of charge access to this waterway service from April 6 until the end of July this year.

The Prek Pnov-Phnom Penh-Takhmao route is 25 kilometres long and takes about 34 minutes with six stations: Prek Pnov, new Freedom Park, Night Market, Koh Pich, Chhbar Ampov, and Takhmao.
