Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen made an appeal here this morning to the public and private sectors to further support the art and cultural dissemination.
Addressing to the opening ceremony of the 18th National Culture Day organized under theme "Youth for National Culture," Samdech Techo Hun Sen praised the Ministry of Information for having instructed all local TV channels to broadcast Cambodian-produced programmes during prime time (7:00-9:00pm).
The Cambodian premier encouraged all TV channels to broadcast cultural products, including Lakhoan (Khmer opera), traditional dances, and other local art performances during this "golden hour", in addition to the existing programmes.
The premier urged the private sector to further support the broadcasting during the prime time through advertisements, sponsorship, in order to promote the country's culture, arts, and sports.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen also expressed his support to the theme of the 18th National Culture Day and encouraged the youth to actively take part in the art and cultural preservation.
This is an annual event to inspire the younger generation to love and preserve their national culture.
