Cambodian NA President Speaks Highly of Vietnamese Premier’s Visit

Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia, has lauded the official visit of H.E. Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, to the Kingdom.

In their meeting taking place here in Phnom Penh this afternoon, Samdech Heng Samrin underlined that the Vietnamese Premier’s visit to the country not only contributes to further strengthening the bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries, but also to reflecting Vietnam’s will to support Cambodia as the ASEAN Chair and to making the ASEAN Summits and Related Summits a success.

H.E. Pham Minh Chinh’s presence also reflects the progress in the relations and cooperation between both neighbouring countries, especially under the legislature framework, said the NA president, expressing his satisfaction with the mutual support between the Cambodian and Vietnamese NAs at interparliamentary forums such as AIPA, IPU, APPF, APF and ASEP.

Samdech Heng Samrin spoke highly of the close cooperation between the two governments in all sectors, particularly in politics, diplomacy, economy, trade, investment, education, health, culture and beyond.

H.E. Pham Minh Chinh highly valued Cambodia’s role as the Chair of ASEAN and AIPA, and congratulated Cambodia on its success in the recent organisation of commune/Sangkat council election, which is a crucial part leading to the success of the general election next year.

A high-level Vietnamese delegation led by Prime Minister H.E. Pham Minh Chinh arrived in Phnom Penh this morning for a two-day official visit and for the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and Related Summits this week.
