Cambodian Foreign Minister To Visit the Philippines Next Week

Cambodian Senior Minister H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, will lead a delegation to pay an official visit to the Republic of the Philippines from Dec. 5 to 7, 2017.

According to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation AKP received this afternoon, the forthcoming visit will be made at the invitation of H.E. Alan Peter S. Cayetano, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines.

During his stay in the Philippines, H.E. Prak Sokhonn will pay courtesy call on H.E. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, President of the Republic of Philippines, then he will co-chair with his Philippine counterpart the Second Meeting of Cambodia-the Philippines Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) in which the two Foreign Ministers will discuss a wide range of cooperation such as political, economic, defense, transnational crime, cultural and social cooperation as well as regional and international pressing issues.

At the conclusion of the meeting, three documents � Agreed minutes of the Second Meeting of JCBC, Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines on Prevention of Looting and Illicit Trafficking of Cultural Property, and Memorandum of Understanding on Defence Cooperation between the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Department of the National Defence of the Republic of the Philippines � will be signed.

While both countries are celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Cambodia-the Philippines diplomatic ties, H.E. Prak Sokhonn's visit aims at further strengthening relations and cooperation between the two countries both at regional and international level.
