Cambodian Foreign Minister Receives UK Trade Envoy

Cambodia's Senior Minister H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received here this morning visiting British Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Cambodia, Honourable Edward Vaizey.

According to Foreign Ministry's Spokesperson H.E. Chum Sounry, the meeting focused mainly on trade cooperation between the two nations.

H.E. Prak Sokhonn congratulated Honourable Edward Vaizey on his appointment as the British Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos and highly evaluated the friendship and good cooperation between both countries.

The Cambodian top diplomat spoke highly of the progress in the two-way trade, from US$800 million in 2015 to more than US$1 billion last year as well as of the visit of British tourists in Cambodia.

H.E. Prak Sokhonn also introduced some potential Cambodian agro-products, including rice, Kampot pepper, and organic Kampong Speu palm sugar.

In reply, Honourable Edward Vaizey said he is ready to support any initiatives to promote more cooperation, especially in the trade sector, between the two countries.
