Cambodian Senior Minister H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation received this morning in Siem Reap city, Siem Reap province visiting Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Morocco, H.E. Ms. Mounia Boucetta.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 3rd Mekong River Commission (MRC) Summit hosted by Cambodia.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, H.E. Prak Sokhonn said both sides pledged to further promote the bilateral cooperation between the two nations, especially in the areas of business and tourism.
Last year, he recalled, a group of Cambodian diplomats attended a political consultation meeting in Morocco, but both sides wished to further enhance their cooperation on trade, visa exemption for diplomatic and service passport holders.
In reply to H.E. Ms. Mounia Boucetta's invitation, the Cambodian top diplomat will pay a visit to Morocco in the second semester of this year.
On the diplomatic relations, Morocco promised to help the National Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations, he added.
According to H.E. Prak Sokhonn, the trade volume between Cambodia and Morocco reached some US$1 million, while Cambodia attracted only 800 tourists in 2017.
