A Cambodian delegation led by H.E. Pich Rithi, Ambassador of Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) in Geneva attended an Informal WTO Ministerial Meeting in New Delhi, India, on Mar 19-20, 2018.
According to the ministry's news release, this Informal Ministerial Meeting, attended by about 50 WTO Members, is aimed to discuss the way forward after the 11th WTO Ministerial Conference held on Dec. 11-13, 2017 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
In response to the main theme of this meeting, H.E. Pich Rithi expressed Cambodia's support to continued negotiations in the WTO in order to strengthen this Multilateral Trading System, but he requested that Least-Developed Countries (LDCs) should be considered to provide Special and Differential Treatment, legal flexibilities, capacity building and technical assistance to negotiate and implement existing and future WTO agreements.
H.E. Ambassador also called upon all Developed Members and Developing Members to fully implement all the WTO Ministerial Decisions in favour of LDCs.
