Cambodian delegation led by Minister of Commerce H.E. Pan Sorasak, also ASEAN Economic Minister for Cambodia, has been attending the 50th ASEAN Economic Ministers' Meeting (AEM 50) and Related Meetings, being held in Singapore from Aug. 28 to Sept. 1 to review the progress of liberalisation in ASEAN and seek solutions for challenges.
According to a news release of the Ministry of Commerce, the meeting was chaired by H.E. Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Trade and Industry of Singapore with the participation of his ASEAN counterparts and ASEAN secretary general.
AEM 50 has reviewed and set ASEAN's internal position for negotiation with partner countries in the framework of ASEAN+1, ASEAN+3, negotiation on Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and ASEAN's stand in the new turning point of world economy, it pointed out.
Beside AEM 50, H.E. Pan Sorasak took part in the 10th Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam (CLMV) Economic Ministers' Meeting, AEM-32nd ASEAN Free Trade Area Council Meeting (AEM-32nd AFTA Council Meeting), and AEM-21st ASEAN Investment Area Council Meeting (AEM-21st AIA Council Meeting).
After that, the AEM-32nd AFTA Council Ministers signed the Protocol to amend ATIGA and Protocol to implement the 10th Package of Commitments under the ASEAN Framework Agreement on Services (AFAS).
