Cambodia Wins Gold Medal for Petanque at World Games 2022 in USA

Cambodia has earned a gold medal from Women’s Petanque Precision Shooting at the World Games 2022 being held in the United State of America.

The victory was shared this morning by the Cambodian SEA Games Organising Committe (CAMSOC), adding that the gold medalist is Ms. Ouk Sreymom.

Ms. Ouk Sreymom won the gold medal after beating her American counterpart, Ms. Rebeka Howe 41:21 in the final contest early this morning (Cambodian time).

This is another historical record for Cambodia to succeed in such international event, added the source.

Cambodia has dispatched two Petanque athletes including Ms. Ouk Sreymon and Ms. Un Sreya to compete in the world games, according to Ms. Kin Samnang, Deputy Secretary General of the Federation of Boules and Petanque of Cambodia (FBCP).

The World Games is an international multi-sport event held every four years. This is the first time for Cambodia to join the games by sending only two petanque athletes, she said.

Taking place on July 8 to 15 in Birmingham of Alabama State, the World Games 2022 attracts the participation of some 3,600 athletes from over 100 countries.
