Cambodia got in total of 33 medals at the Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC), the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS) announced on its Facebook page early this week.
Among the 33 medals, the same source pointed out, 3 are gold, 11 silver and 19 bronze.
SIMOC 2019, held from July 6 to 9, attracted 1,100 candidates from 20 countries, including Cambodia, said MoEYS, adding that the Kingdom has sent 76 students from 16 public and private schools to participate in this international competition, including nine from the New Generation School at Preah Sisowath High School.
According to its online source, SIMOC is a unique concept of mathematics competition which not only tests the ability to solve mathematical problems on pen and paper but also tests the ability to work as a team to play interactive mathematical games and solve puzzles.
