Cambodia, Vietnam Vow to Continue Combating All Forms of Cross-border Offences

The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam have been committed to continue taking strict measures to prevent and crack down on all forms of offences, particularly drug and forest offences along the common border.

The joint commitment was made by Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Cambodia and H.E. Gen. To Lam, Minister of Public Security of Vietnam, in their meeting to review the outcomes of their cooperation in 2019, during the former's working visit to Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam from Jan. 17 to 19, according to a press release of the Ministry of Interior.

Both sides also agreed to continue combating illegal border crossing, it added.

Moreover, they vowed to continue their cooperation in borderline management and peaceful resolution of different issues based on the principles of mutual respect of independence and sovereignty.

At the end of the meeting, both sides signed the Cooperation Plan 2020 to further tighten and expand their cooperation.
