Cambodia, Vietnam to Boost Smart City Development

Cambodia and Vietnam are committed to further boosting their cooperation in development of smart cities of Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh.

The commitment was revealed in a meeting between H.E. Pa Socheatevong, Phnom Penh Municipal Council President and visiting Deputy Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Municipal People's Council H.E. Ms. Nguyen Thi Le here in Phnom Penh yesterday.

H.E. Ms. Nguyen Thi Le spoke highly Cambodia's rapid development, especially in the Phnom Penh capital.

H.E. Pa Socheatevong underlined the city's positive progress, thanks to Cambodia's peace, political stability, as well as its open policy attracting more and more foreign investors, including Vietnamese investments to the Kingdom.

Along with the development of the capital, there emerge some issues such as traffic congestion, garbage and waste management and beyond that need to be addressed in a timely manner, he added.

Both sides are positive that the smart city cooperation will contribute vitally to addressing the happening issues of the two cities.
