The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Social Republic of Vietnam are looking forward to fostering peacekeeping cooperation.
The intention was outlined during a meeting between Gen. Sem Sovanny, Director General of the National Centre for Peacekeeping Forces, Mine and Explosive Remnant of War Clearance (NPMEC) and Colonel Nguyen Anh Dung, Vietnamese Military Attache to Cambodia, in Phnom Penh on Monday.
Colonel Nguyen Anh Dung spoke highly of Cambodia's active contribution to United Nations peacekeeping missions over a decade, for which Gen. Sem Sovanny expressed his thanks.
The two senior officials also agreed to exchange exposure visits and capacity building of concerned officials of the two neighbours, focusing on peacekeeping experience and skills.
They also touched on the planned construction of Cambodia-Vietnam friendship building at Oudong Training Institute for Peacekeeping Forces in Kampong Speu province of Cambodia.
