Cambodia, Vietnam Agree to Resume Land and Air Transport to Boost Tourism

Cambodian and Vietnamese leaders have agreed to resume land and air transport to boost tourism between both neighbouring nations, underlined Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen

“I and Prime Minister of Vietnam have just agreed that now we should reopen land and air tourism, and the tourism ministers of both nations were commissioned to work together on this matter,” he said at a get-together with more than 2,000 Cambodians living in the U.S. and Canada, in Washington D.C. on May 11 evening (Washington D.C time), on the sidelines of the ASEAN-U.S. Special Summit.

Cambodia and Vietnam had suspended tourism activities since the COVID-19 outbreak in the two countries, but recently Cambodia has officially announced to reopen for all fully vaccinated tourists.

The Kingdom has removed PCR and rapid tests for fully vaccinated passengers, as well as the requirement for proof of 72 hour negative COVID-19 tests, just the presentation of the vaccination card is enough, but Vietnam may have different requirement, therefore the tourism ministers of the two countries should work on this issue, he added.

Cambodia and Thailand have just re-opened their common land border on May 1, 2022.
