Cambodia-UAE Market Access Expansion Negotiated

Cambodia is negotiating a possible access expansion to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) market especially for agriculture, tourism, trade, health, investment, civil engineering, and transport.

The negotiation was the topic of discussion of a recent inter-ministerial meeting on trade in services under Cambodia-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) chaired by H.E. Mrs. Tekreth Kamrang, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce here in Phnom Penh.

For the first eight months of 2022, the two-way trade volume between the two countries reached US$279 million, up 40 percent compared to the same period in 2021.

Cambodia-UAE CEPA also includes the investment opportunities for inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

UAE is Cambodia's leading trade partner in the Middle East contributing approximately 77 percent of Cambodia's total trade volume with the region.
