Cambodia has agreed to host two activities of Mekong-Lancang cooperation framework looking into strengthening tourism in the region.
The plan was shared recently by H.E. HorMonirath, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Tourism when leading a delegation of Mekong-Lancang member countries to pay a courtesy call on Mr. Tong Daochi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China's Hainan Provincial Committee.
The activities are a conference to build awareness on natural and cultural heritage, and a seminar to enhance tourism services among Chinese visitors, according to the secretary of state.
As the host of the two mentioned activities, Cambodia sees opportunities to further boost cooperation with China, especially in tourism.
Mr. Tong Daochi warmly welcomed the delegation and spoke highly of Cambodia's potential and rapid development, including its physical infrastructure that he witnessed when visiting the country.
The two sides also exchanged their appreciation of advancing Cambodia and China collaboration under the leadership of Cambodian Prime Minister SamdechAkkaMohaSenaPadeiTecho Hun Sen and Chinese President H.E. Xi Jinping.
The meeting was a side-line of Cambodia's delegation led by H.E. HorMonirath to attend Sanya Forum on Tourism Cooperation in Hainan of China.
