Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defence is going to host the 16th ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting (16th ADMM) next week, on June 21-22, and H.E. Gen. Mya Tun Oo, Minister for Defence of the Union of Myanmar will also be present.
The information was shared at a press conference here this afternoon by H.E. Gen. Nem Sowath, Special Adviser to Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defence and Chair of the 16th ADMM.
There will be three main programmes, including the official visits by the Japanese and Indonesian defence ministers, the ADMM, and the Informal ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meetings with the Japanese defense minister (physical form) and with the Chinese defence minister (via videoconference), he pointed out.
According to H.E. Gen. Nem Sowath, the Japanese and Indonesian defence ministers and the ASEAN defence ministers will pay separate courtesy calls on Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Chair of ASEAN for 2022, at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh.
