Cambodia to Host a Medical Conference on How to Fight Mosquitoes

An international conference will he held in Cambodia on Tuesday next week on how to fight mosquitoes.

This event will be organised by the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) on Nov. 19, at 6:30 pm at the Institut Francais du Cambodge in Phnom Penh.

The theme of the conference will be New Ways to Fight Against Mosquitoes. It will be presented by Dr. Sebastien Boyer, Environmental Health Doctor, HDR, Head of the Medical Entomology and Veterinary Unit at IPC.

Two hundred and forty-three (243) mosquito species belonging to 20 genera have been recorded in Cambodia. The Aedes aegypti is the main vector for dengue virus transmission to humans, whereas A. albopictus is considered the second most important vector.
