Cambodia is expecting the availability of telemedicine in the country shortly, according to Minister of Posts and Telecommunications H.E. Tram Iv Tek.
The minister shared the news when chairing a recent preparation meeting for the launch of the facility in Kampong Chhnang province.
According to online source, Telemedicine is the use of telecommunication and information technology to provide clinical health care from a distance. It has been used to overcome distance barriers and to improve access to medical services that would often not be consistently available in distant rural communities.
The existence of the telemedicine, underlined H.E. Tram Iv Tek, will further promote convenient access to health care especially among rural Cambodia.
